IF THE CABLE AND RANGE CLOSED SIGN IS UP DO NOT GO AROUND IT!!!! IT IS CLOSED FOR SAFTEY!!!

All ranges can be closed at anytime for safety or maintenance reasons if necessary. If you see a problem on a range that requires imitate attention please contact a board member.

Anyone found shooting on a closed range WILL have there membership revoked. No refund given.

We at North Buffalo Sportsman’s Club prescribe to the NRA 3 Rules of Gun Safe Handling which are:

1. Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction

2. Always keep your finger off the trigger until you’re ready to shoot

3. Always keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.

Apply these rules anytime you come in contact with a firearm. Here at North Buffalo, down range is generally a safe direction. UP is never a safe direction because over the trees we have roads and houses and we need to make sure we contain the projectiles on the property.

Some other rules are:

  • KNOW your target and what’s beyond it.

  • Be sure your gun is safe to operate.

  • Wear eye and ear protection as appropriate.

  • Store all guns so that they are inaccessible to unauthorized individuals.

  • Never use alcohol or drugs before or during shooting.

  • Before moving downrange, make sure to announce your intentions to others on that range, and be sure they hear and acknowledge what you intend to do.

Targets are restricted to:

  • paper

  • cardboard

  • wood

  • clay birds

  • tin cans

  • soft plastic containers

  • No items that leave shards or household items are permitted.

When shooting is complete, you must clean up and dispose of all shell castings from wherever they land. Remove and dispose of all target materials and debris.
